    Need A New Microphone!

it makes a BIG difference. Personally I never use the RF2 mode because it is too hard to control all wi-fi that might enter your space.

    Wireless Microphone

It's a problem because the FCC hasn't determined what part of the 600 band will go. Also a chunk of the 500's will go by 2021. So your options are to buy wireless that is not in the TV uHF band (480-692MHz) or to roll the dice. Mics that use the 2.4G range are digital and sound much, much...

    Need A New Microphone!

Since they didn't find any problems with your hardware, Im betting you are having a mode issue. Do you know which RF mode you are operating in? Out of the box Line 6 wireless defaults to RF2 (and are still there if you haven't switched them) mode which while it has benefits is harder for most...

    Wireless Microphone

two points ... It's not "digital" itself that is an answer to becoming illegal due to band reassignments. It's the actual frequencies any wireless mic could transmit on that is the issue. A huge chunk of the 600 MHz band is scheduled to be reallocated and most likely wireless mics will be...

Help Getting Dual Xlr Outs To Mono

The correct way to do this is to sum the L&R channels with something that has buffered inputs, such as the direct box you bought( or a mixer). Y-cords are meant to split outputs not to combine inputs. There will be losses that could be significant depending on the exact gear. OTOH, lots of...

But Bill ... you won't be able to download pirated movies from North Korea :hp3:

    Cold Temperatures...

I wouldn't expect you'd ever get close enough to "cold" in SoCal to ever have any problems. Gear does have a cold as well as a heat limit ... but it's way below zero. You usually start seeing problems with LCDs first.

Used Gear - Buy, Sell Or Trade For Dec 2014

I've got a set of QSC K series speakers ... a pair of K-Subs and K-10s with bags and poles for sale. They have never been taken to a gig and are a 9.9 out of 10. They still have years left on the factory warranty. Musician's Friend/Sweetwater price would be about $3400 for the set but I'll...

    New Wireless Microphone

It's not just the frequencies that must be co-ordinated but also the squelch/pilot tone systems and the companders. Of course none of those things are in digital wireless :)

QSC: K-10 tops & K-Sub subwoofers Anyone in the greater Los Angeles area looking for a speaker system? I'm got a mint set with QSC K-10 tops and K-Sub subwoofers (pair each). They have carry bags and speaker poles. They've never been out of my house and they are in mint shape both...

    Wireless Microphone System

I'm guessing that you are running in RF2 mode, which should only be used when you can control all wi-fi in your venue. Switching them over to RF1 mode should solve your problem.

    Alto Stealth Wireless System

Be aware that these units operate in the 600 MHz band. The FCC is auctioning off that band next year so they are likely to be on the short track to becoming illegal.

    Wireless Microphone System

Hey Bill ... missed that. But for anyone else ... it is certainly not a "best practice" to ever have any transmitter in very close proximity to a receiver's antennas.

    Wireless Microphone System

John ... you never answered as to what mode you are running in??? You probably have a big problem having a laptop (if the wi-fi is turned on) and an XDV receiver in the same case. You are putting a competing transmitter inches away from the receivers antennas. They will need to be separated...

    Wireless Microphone System

Did you pay attention to what mode you are running in? Out of the box it defaults to RF2 mode. In this mode you MUST be able to control wi-fi in your space. If you switch it to RF1 mode you won't have to worry about it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=up41nyqUnlE

    G a m e C h a n g e r

I imagine they are just expanding on the work already started with Peavey Kosmos and BBe. Lots of products available as plug-ins too either "expanders" or Dynamic EQs" (or both) have been around for a long time. One problem is that you have to have a lot of unused headroom in your system to be...

    B112W Bluetooth Speakers

Any radio will have a limit to how well it can perform against competition form other devices trying to use the same frequencies. But things like wi-fi and Bluetooth are on the low end of the scale in that regard. OTOH some technologies are very good at dealing with interference.

    B112W Bluetooth Speakers

The frequency isn't the problem. The problem here is lackluster Bluetooth technology

Just make sure you are good with the limited quality of Bluetooth audio.

Slashed Wireless Mic Prices = Caveat Emptor

"was" may be the operative word here. Finding a clear channel is becoming more difficult daily. And when the 600's become restricted it may become nearly impossible. There are a couple of things to consider. So, yes when digital systems mute they go from full on to full off. Analog systems...
