Slip on your boat shoes, grab some bubbly & your Cuban cigars then head on down to the marina because Yacht Rock is back on Sirius - X M, channel 18.
I did a little research on Yacht Rock and the there's an interesting musical incestuousness going on. Many of the artist who have come to be thought of as the pillars of the genre are all very close and have worked together either in the studio or on tour at one time or another. Off the top of my head there's the members of Steely Dan, Michael McDonald & Boz Scaggs. As some here may know, they (Donald Fagan of Steely Dan) have their own group called the Dukes of September. If you're a little bored at work and like to play private detective, Google Yacht Rock and see how many dots you can connect. It's kind of like trying to count how many actors from Soprano's who were also in Goodfellas...no matter how many times you think you've completed the list, someone else points out a few more.
Enjoy your workaholics! Have a great Summer! -Z-
