True, no operating system has been more reviled since Vista... but since so many computers are being sold with it, I figured I should ask which bits of software run well with it.

What software works well with Win 8.1?

Wow look what the polar bear dragged in. Welcome back Eric! Sorry haven't tried it and I stayed with Win7. I would like to hear if people have had success with Win8 and if they've been able to work with touch screens with it since that is what it is looking like the direction Windows wants to go.

Currently I have two Asus Core I7 laptops running Win 8.1, 64 bit. Bear in mind these are used strictly for DJ'ing and nothing else. There is no anti-virus code, no java and never touch the internet. All updates are selective and installed via USB memory sticks. I have been able to run VDJ V7 without incident. I've loaded V8 and so far the only glitches I've discovered are that all of the buttons/features on the skin that I use (MixLab) do not function as they do on V7. This is a script issue which I am slowly correcting one feature at a time. The biggest problem was finding all the 64 bit drivers for things like my external sound cards and controllers. BTW these laptops DO NOT have touch screen capabilities so I can't speak on that.

Asus i7 Touchscreen laptop with Win8.1 running OtsAVTV perfectly here. I also have VDJ8 installed on that same system, and as of this post, still running strong! Have yet to find my first bug with it. Strong contender!

Good post. It's time to purchase updated laptops and having to use Windows 8 has been on my mind. I've been using VDJ8 here and there, I've had a sound card issue with my Denon MK2 so have not fully made the switch yet. I think I'm close to switching to 8 full time, and upgrading y 2 other systems to it with Denon MK2 controllers. Doing so our old XP machines (now our backups) should be phased out so we have more updated and faster backups available. Anyone else using Windows 8?
