What do I need to do to play my VDJ just from my computer, through my headphones or computer speakers? I'm getting lazy and want to work on some mixes without setting up my Denon MC6000.

It is NEVER that easy for me :) :) :)
Audio settings were Headphones, changed to Single Output - nothing.
Even though I have loaded a song on a deck, it doesn't even show it playing, let alone hearing it.
I keep getting a screen saying Failed to create an ASIO driver.

Keeping with my luck...there was a screen to update my VDJ 8 and I said yes
.....and now I can't play through my headphones again. I tell ya - it is just my luck. :(

Make sure you log in to register your VDJ 8, I didn't and it shut down the audio on me after about 15 minutes. I filled out the big pop up and now it works fine. I called VDJ and they said the download was set up so you have to register the product.

Kenny, You also have to change the soundcard to the laptop internal card when adjusting to (single output) or any setting. You may also have to turn off the ASIO mode

Get an external sound card if you want higher quality output than what you get through a headphone jack.

The main reason I want to do this, is to play and practice songs on the desk in my office and not bring out my flight case with my Denon MC6000 and hook it up. But I also want to be able to use this computer with VDJ in case my other, ceremony computer, breaks down and I have to use my VDJ computer with my little mixer.
I'll try the above ideas. Thanks for your input.

I mix in my headphones on the train. I have to switch the default sound card on my laptop to headphones before it will play in VDJ.

I have the same setup on my work PC + bluetooth headphones.

In VDJ 8 config it reads like this: Source = master. Soundcard = Bluetooth handsfree Audio (WASAPi). Channel = chan 1 & 2. Hope that helps.

Kenny,

The next time I am in Acworth or Canton, please feel free to come join me and I can show you what I do.

With multiple systems, I am in the same boat and can give you some guidance and hands-on practice...
