So, how did everyone enjoy my LD skills on the Oscars tonight?

Yeah, I wish....

Anyhow, I think seth Mcfarlane killed it as host. The guy is so talented in many ways. It's a shame he's only associated with blue humor. I was super happy to see Jennifer Lawrence win.. what a great kid. I was happy for Ben Affleck, but just wish he and clooney weren't such liberal douchebags. It's easy to be a liberal when you're worth 30 million, and anything the current administration does really won't have any effect on you.

I loved the "we saw your boobs" number, as well as the les miserables performance.

The Life of Pi, which I read years ago, swept the oscars as far as I was concerned.. I still have not seen the movie, but when it finally ends up on netflix, I'm sure I'll watch it.

I was pleased with how many first time winners we had tonight. The game is being upped with each and every passing year.

We've come such a long way since Star Wars, which was so ground breaking. That was the epiphany of film making back then, and today, we have the likes of The Matrix, Avatar, Independence Day, and other such "over the top" CGI wonders.

I'm normally not one to follow hollywood shows, I never watch the awards shows as a matter of fact, but I really enjoyed tonights show. I could have done without Michelle Obama who looked like a shiny sausage in that hideous dress, but what do you expect from hollywood. They're completely out of touch with real life, and have no business commentating on politics.

Anyhow, As a major Seth McFarlane fan, I just wanted to comment on the show tonight, and say how much I enjoyed it!

so.... what did yall' think?

I'd love to know exactly what were the terms of his deal with satan because this guy has way too much talent for any one person, plus he's a handsome chap. His Big Band/Swing CD is completely awesome. He regularly works with whomever is still alive from the old "Sinatra Gang"...as evidenced by not only the quality of the CD, but the big musical numbers on Family Guy. When he recorded his CD, Capital actually took the mic Frank used out of the archives and allowed Seth to use it.

Yeah, if I could afford private armed security to protect my family and me I'd probably not care about urinating all over the 2nd Amendment either.

I loved the "we saw your boobs" number, as well as the les miserables performance...Anyhow, As a major Seth McFarlane fan, I just wanted to comment on the show tonight, and say how much I enjoyed it!
After working in an environment that brings political correctness to the level of a noose, Seth (as well as Opie & Anthony) are what reclaims my sanity on a daily basis. The "boobs" number was F****** hilarious, yet mild for Seth. I normally make it a rule to NOT watch award shows. It was because of Seth & the Bond tribute that I made what turned out to be a very worthwhile exception. I wonder how much of my tax dollars went to pay for Michelle's sausage casing(?).

Shirley Bassey NAILED IT!

Jennifer Lawrence lost it...

Really?

I thought Seth looked rather uncomfortable, nervous and out of place most of the night... as if he were afraid to speak or didn't know what to say. If you check the reviews from all the major newspapers, they thought so too!

I tuned in just after the boobs thing, but I'm sure I'll look it up on youtube later.

Well as with any show.. Some good, some bad.

Seth is certainly not on the level of Carson or Crystal. His humor is more middle school boob jokes than quick intelligent sophisticated humor the Oscar's should be about.
If I were him... I would have had Ted his animated bear open the show with serious insults to the hollywood phonies (as chevy chase calls them) and then Seth come out to throw him off the stage.

His musical talent is very good and the guy can dance too.

Dang if Ol Charlize Theron can dance!!!!!! Not just play an ugly florida mass murderer hooker.

I watched until I saw James Franco / Melissa McCarthy and The Avenger cast trying to act out terrible writing and then make an even bigger mess of the whole thing because they can not act or do comedy in a live setting.

I did go back this morning and watch Shirley Bassey belt out the "Goldfinger" theme. Broad can still it bring boy!!!!!!

Babs singing "The Way We Were"... Come to think of it, the music and dance were the best part of the telecast.

EXCEPT!!!! The jackasses forgot good Ol Andy and Mongo in their remembrance montage!!! REALLY!! REALLY!!!!

Andy Griffith who stared in one of the great commentary's of our time "A Face In The Crowd" and the always funny latrine scene in "No Time For Sargeants"

Alex Karras as Mongo in "Blazing Saddles" and the gay bodyguard in "Victor Victoria"

You knuckleheads forgot THEM!!!!!

Movies.... Like music..... have really hit a nice run for the past few years. Sure hope it keeps up.

And Yes Stephen....
Adele deserved to the win the Oscar, because You have noted many times she is our modern day Aretha Franklin ;)

Lil 21 looking forward to 22 jimmy

Myself? I liked Billy Crystal's comment:

"Nothing can take the sting out of the world's economic problems like watching millionaires give each other golden statues".

I've no time for such nonsense.

Canayjun, Eh!
Just watched "Searching For Sugar Man". One of the best music-related documentaries I've ever experienced. Highly recommended.

Question for Mark & other Detroit-area DJs... Had you ever heard of Sixto Rodriguez before now? I hadn't. How can a man/musician/poet be bigger than Elvis in a foreign country, yet completely unknown even in his own home-town?
