Superbowl Blackout

See, if they had just hired Cap to do the music for halftime, he would've brought his Honda Generators and none of this game delay would be necessary. Score: Cap 1 - Superbowl 0. -Z-

I actually thought Bane was going to get on the P.A. and announce he was taking over the free world (if you didn't see The Dark Knight Rises, you won't get that).

In reality, for about 15 seconds (before the commentators started talking again), I thought it could be a terrorist attack.

As for the halftime show, I wasn't impressed with Beyonce. All she did was shake her hips for 12 minutes and it seemed like a car wreck of her songs mashed together. It wasn't horrible by any means, but probably the worst halftime performance in recent memory. Kinda boring.

For all the talent it took to do what she did, I think it would've been so much more fun to have Psy bringing the house down by rocking the Superdome (literally) with likely almost all in attendance doing "Gangam Style" together at one time. -Z-

Always At Your Service
I've been reading some low profile articles about a secretive (all code names, no personal identities shared) group of computer gurus aka:hackers that are embarking on a vigilantly-like approach to social and political issues via the internet by hacking into high-level highly-sensitive computer systems and disrupting, altering, or obliterating the person or company perceived as a wrong-doer.

While not getting that much front page press, except perhaps the New York Times last week, check out the numbers of hack jobs and to whom, then follow the money or political stance.

My first thought was a "flex" example being made by this internet underbelly of geniuses. From a little farm, say in Vermont, with a laptop and dial-up connection, they can hack into the power grid, take down only half the Super Bowl, just to make a point, to show off a little, and that nerd power is alive and needs to be taken seriously.

Maybe I worry too much, or the acid reflux from all of yesterday's 12 hour junk food binge is effecting my cognitive capabilities.

While I've had enough of Psy already, I agree that would've been better.

A part of me thinks it was done by someone to take away Baltimore's momentum. They had some major momentum until that point. It almost cost them the game.

I read a report on CNN that indicated Boomer Esiason was broadcasting by radio, and noted that Beyonce's halftime show blew the electric 2 times during the rehearsals on separate days. I'd bet that someone disconnected something from the various platforms that was powered for her show, and it caused a problem.

The power company indicated no issue from their end, which makes sense, since it was obvious that not everything was off like Candestick was in 2011 when this last happened.

OF course, the Superdome folks may not have paid their light bill;)

Yeah I can see it now...Beyonce's system powered by battery cables clamped directly into the breaker panel buss bars ....... I know that idle time affected the RAVENS performance. Flacco and the Ravens sat idle for 84 minutes (that's longer than an entire game) and that was one hell of a momentum shift. I'm just happy they held on to win.GO RAVENS!

Ahh, momentum, shmomentum. Those commentators will come up with anything to analyze and talk about to kill time, especially when they REALLY need to fill the time during an unexpected delay like that. At the Super Bowl level, I think all the players have some sort of clue as to what they're doing and taking a break isn't going to suddenly make all their talent disappear.

I think SF just finally got their act together in the third quarter but in the end, Baltimore just played a little better.

Incredible game all around. One of the best Super Bowls ever!

It was noted that Beyonce's show was all done by generators. Not sure if this is true obviously but it makes sence.

Yep, I heard that this AM, so Boomer didn't really know what he was talking about, as they showed his clip, and he wasn't really there to see that, he was told. Of course, sometimes that's true when he announces;)

The momentum caused by the adrenaline rush that happens when a team repeatedly dominates and capitalizes against the other team is a real occurrence. One team is amped with adrenaline, and the other team is flustered. It usually will last until halftime. That's when the good coaches have to go into the locker room and make strategy adjustments that, hopefully, change things going into the next half.

I don't buy the whole momentum thing. Both Teams has the same amount of downtime. Yes , the Ravens were hot atm and honestly I was about to turn off the game if it was going to be a blowout cause I can always watch all the commercials the next day on the internet. I was about to fall asleep the game was so boring. The NFL should be happy the blackout came and the Niners made it a game.

Maybe the Football Gods wanted to see a competitive game instead of a blowout and dimmed the lights;) Do I think it was a conspiracy to steal the Ravens momentum? Nope , I do not!

At least there was no wardrobe malfunction...meaning we won't pay the price later on for the accident of the baclout from Sunday.

What do you mean at least?! I'm pretty sure half the males watching were praying for one! Haha

Also, I gotta disagree on the worst one in a while because Black Eyed Peas were TERRIBLE when they did it. I am still waiting for Billy Joel to get the call.
