Yes, I'm "interested", and I'm a JJ Abrams AND general pop culture fan ... but, I'll be seeing Sisters this week (Amy Poehler and Tina Fey yes please!) and will wait a tiny bit to enjoy the new Star Wars.

However, many people I like REALLY like Star Wars. If you're a fan, here's a treat for you:

P.S. I'm a big Jeremy Messersmith fan, and even posted his "Let's Ditch Christmas" song in Steve's Christmas Cocktails thread. :)

Yep me too. And so is the owner of the site. He's a little more fanatical than us. I'm actually staying off of social media now for the next three days till I see the movie just because so many people try to spoil it for others.

Much better than the three Pre-Quels. I hated those. I will only say that the ending left cliff hangers into the next Star Wars in 2017.

Not likely Bill. Setting record breaking numbers and hasn't slowed down yet. We went opening weekend but the theater we go to has leather recliners and you really don't see anybody. It's crazy cool.

Best Star Wars istallment yet...by far.
  • I liked that the Force has seen fit to allow diversity in.
  • The aerial dog-fighting scenes are simply amazing. They're so realistic that you may just forget or not even realize this is a phenominal special effect...from the people who re-invented special effects for the movie business.
  • Finally, proper respect, TLC, and great attention to detail was used in the integration of the "old school fabric" of Star Wars with the new. It's seemless and they nailed it. Bravo JJ Abrams!
It surpassed my expectations.

I'm going to go at 12 noon new years day. a lot of people will be stupid by then due to the earlier morning celebration and unable to travel to the theatre. failing that, I'll wait for a few more weeks. No rush

Saw it in iMax 3D on 12/23 and it was AWESOME! My wife wants to go see it again but only after she's watched the six previous episodes which we have on Blu-Ray and regular DVD. I think I'd better upgrade the sound system hooked up to the 65" we have here in FL ..... thinking about a full blown ZXA-1 system (2 subs, 2 tops) in my living room!

BTW - I purchased the tickets via Fandango (extra $.50 per ticket service charge) but NO LINE. We walked in, got the printed sheet scanned and in we went. There were about 200 people in line at the box office so it was worth the extra $1.00

Hi folks, targeting next weekend the 9th. Question for you, I need honest and blunt parent type answer since I have not seen it. My great grandniece will be 6 in July. Is this movie too intense for a 5 1/2 year old? I think that it is the case, but they may have gentled it a bit to attract younger audiences. I think that the first 6 were pretty strong for a 5 year old. IF you had a 5 year old, would you take them to it?

No that's why it is PG-13. There is some "violent" scenes that may disturb a 5 year old. I also know they she would not get the humor of the movie although she would love BB8 :)

exactly as I thought Mark, appreciate the straight up answer. I'm reminded of the last film in which Count Dooku is beheaded, and Anakin loses three of 4 limbs and is burned alive. Not suitable for a young one. Her mother wanted us to take her, but I thought a lot about the last few films. So it's more Disney for her;)

Bill - Enjoy Star Wars! Also, enjoy Good Dinosaur when you take the 5 year old to that. (Heard the background effects are spectacular!)

Have any of you FANS listened to/watched the video at the top of this post? Just curious if you liked it, or were already aware of it.

Just added the DVD set to the other six yesterday ... Might make it a popcorn and movie weekend unless the weather lets me out on the golf course Sat and Sun. Last weekend it poured for two days!
