I have a good but dated karaoke library. I am curious what options are out there to get my library up to date. I only do karaoke a few times a year, so I do not need the most thorough library.....Just the top hits over the last year.

Any suggestions. Any sites to download like an Itunes?

Jeff, I have to laugh, because I was just going to post the same thing. I haven't done any Karaoke in the past couple years so stopped keeping it up to date.
I was also wondering what/who everyone uses to buy their Karaoke from and what would be the best way to update the past couple years.

If you are digital, There are a few choices. Tricerasoft distributes digial files. If you are Still CDG like me, since 2011, the Chartbusters series(no longer in business) were my main stay. I think Sound Choice is in the process of doing digital as well.

Because of all the problems with the lawsuits and proving you have a real library and not pirated hard drive copies, I have decided to stay CDG. Do a search on karaoke piracy, and you can see the pitfalls. it's legally summon first, then prove you are innocent. So, I'll drag CDG's around until I decide to sell them and get out of it.:)

Yes PC is easier, but if I do a show, and they have a plant in the audience taking notes, I'd rather them see me with a CDG rather than a hard drive where they decide to summon you first.

I've been ordering CDG's with Walmart (allstar karaoke AND clean edits) and they cover the bases pretty well. As far as I can tell, outside of Pop Hits(PHM) and County hits(CHM) monthly, there are no comprehensive quarterly or yearly compilations available anymore, which is a real shame.

They are actually pretty good. I've listened to a few, and I didn't hear anything that made me think how horrible they were. I think the best Monthly compilations ar ethe PHm/CHM series though. Those are really excellent. If all you are doing is updating, this will be more expensive, but thorough. If you are in a hurry with a gig, the All stars will cover the top 100 really well.
