I tried posting a few pics here and also as attachments to send to others but I get a file to large or something like that message.

What is the method you all you use to get your nice pics to show. I plug my camera into my computer and save to the My Pictures (I think it saves as a pdf) but from there if fails. Yet, I can see the pic on my computer.

Another thing, I have very poor picture taking skill, how do you get your pics to look so nice and clear?

bb,
the allowed types of files for images are gif, jpeg, jpg, png, tga and tif. If you are trying any other type of image, that could be one problem. A pdf file is more of a document type of file.

If you are trying to send too big of a picture (max file size is 1.95 meg) that could be another problem.

If you would like to send me one of the pictures, I can get a better understanding of what might be going wrong. If nothing else, I can resize it for you and send it back (and even change file types if you are saving to an unsupported extension. My address is c.reifert(at)mchsi.com (just replace the (at) with a you-know-what).

You have to post it somewhere so it can be seen by everyone. Yes you can see it, but switch computers and it will disappear, because the location for the image is on your computer, and cannot be seen elsewhere on the net.

Most people use their website as a repository, Robert, but you don't have one. There are restrictions on size of files, nothing we can do about that.

Perhaps you can network with some one locally to get a pic posted off their website.

Here is a sample of a link toa pic on a website Robert:

For me personally, I host my own pictures at my website. I can't imaging why it would save your pictures as .pdf. There must be a setting somewhere to correct this. As for quality of the pictues, what I did was a lot of research on cameras that do well in low-light settings. That was my #1 criteria. Canon cameras do well in this area.

Be on the lookout for a post I'm about to make regarding my gig this past weekend. I'll post pictures there.

You actually don't need to waste your site's bandwidth by saving it to your own site (unless it's a specific picture that you don't saved anywhere but your own site)... what I've been doing is saving pictures to that I want to use in my posts at http://www.tinypic.com
Once the picture is uploaded, you are given a URL to use for the picture. Using the img tag up above, you can post those URLs within the message.

WIllr, we see a red X in a white box, indicating a problem with what you have posted in the sig line.

No problem here. I see it. What's weird is it says it's a .jpg file, but it is animated. I thought only .gif images could be animated. Hummmm.

Bill, what I really want to know is who the "we" is, since it shows just fine in my browser as well. ;)

'Course, it could have been that tinypic was having problems at the time, or it's just you, Bill. We told you to get new glasses.
