Hey All,
I have a couple of vids I shot of our light show over the weekend. Obviously they are not professional, but I was wondering which one I should put up on my website for viewers. Would you use number 1 or number 2.... or neither? Thanks for the input.

Is there any way for me to change these to mpg's? The files are kind of big. I could use a little compression with these.

Please take this as constructive critisism and not an insult...

If you want to place this on your website and show a bunch of people in a mid-tempo dance, then these videos are a good way to go... however it doesn't showcase your unique talents. There is nothing special about these videos... in fact the only thing I see changing in them is a few lights. With that said... I'm sure there are things you do during your events that rock the crowd and bring the roof down on your events... Your videos should showcase your unique talents that you bring to a party/event. Your videos that you showcase to prospective clients should answer one of the simple questions I hear most... Why should I hire you... what makes your services special and unique? Then ensure you have a video release form signed by your clients that allows you to use photographs or videos from their event for promotional material. Without that, you are opening yourself up for possible legal issues.

...just my 2 cents worth... IMHO

Honestly I wouldn't use either one. I know you said it was not professional but it is just to dark and really doesn't show off well. A different angle from another show, perhaps from the audience view looking at the stage or from the side that you can see the beam would work better. A little haze would add a great effect as well. If you still want to use one of these let me know and I can convert it to a WMV format and have it back to you pretty fast.

To tell you the honest truth... that's exactly the reason I put them on here first...for criticism. I didn't think they were worth a crap either...haha! But, I figured I would get an honest answer from you all. I definitely strive for perfection and after viewing these myself I thought "hmmm... not sure I would want to put these up." I don't even think a little haze would do these videos any good. It was my first time trying to film my light show... so I think it's going to take either a professional to do it for me... or I'm going to need a lot more time to figure out how my own camera can capture what I'm looking for. Don't worry about the comments... that's exactly what I wanted to hear!!!
