Nothing crazy but I really like the choice of music and I wish he would have shown the software as well as the controller.

The controller is VERY nice. I use the 2 deck mode with Virtual DJ Pro. The controller really shines in the 4 deck mode. I wish I could mix like that.

Wedding band looks more like a guys but you never know, Ok I'll say the DJ made a nice mix :)

Stephen - I just picked up the unit today and have playing with it all day. Lots to learn and the 3rd one in 10 years I have to learn. So far this is the coolest though and your right learning 4 tracks is tough but I love the challenge.

Is it normal to have the gain sliders all the way to maximum? This person obviously has spent the time learning these songs inside and out to know where the breaks and beats land. This unit looks very impressive. Mark, how is the mic input on this thing?

I'm still thinking about one of these, but my main issue is that coming from SSL I'm just not sold on VDJ yet. I use VDJ for about 1 in 10 these days, but I still heavily prefer my SSL.

I could try with Traktor, but that's a whole other bag 'o worms

Mic is fine Tom, just the small test that I did and I don't think you should have any mixer set that high. Could just be for the video, don't know.

I think the DJ community has to ban together to start telling these companies that we want the choice of what software to use and not be told what to use. I bought the NS6 this summer and still can't get VDJ to play nice with it. Yesterday I finally got the sound to work properly. It works awesome with Itch but I don't want to learn Itch and I shouldn't have to. I also should not have to spend weeks working on a unit to get it to play with what I know. I know these controllers are new but all the mappings should be included and ready to go. Even the MC6000 needed some tweaking out of the box but it wasn't bad.

Phrasing is a little off in places but it is synced nicely... It is cool there were some 80's club/Sports Bar standards in there!

Way off topic... sorry.

Here's the MC6000 setup that I've been assembling. The Mic 1 input is terrific. I have a wired Shure plugged in. Mic 2 will be hooked to my EV wireless mic. The deciding factor was 2 mic inputs. I use the Virtual DJ 2-deck mode because I have a backup CD player & another computer hooked in also.

By the way, you get terrific support at http://www.denondjforums.com/forum/index.php including Virtual DJ & Traktor support.

Love mine. I use it with VDJ. Coming from SSL and Itch, the biggest thing I notice is the extremely slight lag on the controls with VDJ as opposed to Itch. Other than that, this is my main birthday/house party rig. Coffin case includes:

MC6000
Shure Wireless Receiver
4-outlet strip.

Extremely powerful and flexible unit. Denon hit a home run with this one. Might have to post a video with my own 80's mix if I get 5 minutes to rub together. Might be fun!

Please do, Brian. I just wish I had the talent or the time to being 25% as good as the video.

Watching stuff like that is like playing craps for the first time. It seems really complicated until you realize there are only a few things you actually need to be concerned with. A lot of what he's doing has been pre-produced. And he's really only relying on loop rolls and a squasher (or crusher, or whatever your software calls it) to achieve the mix. He's obviously very good at it, but you could do it too.
I remember being amazed by Rooney G. But then I realized that a lot of his stuff is VERY pre-produced. Don't get me wrong. That guy has every skill in the book. Just watch his early vinyl stuff and you'll be blown away.
It's like a good magician who's prefected the Pledge and the Turn, so that the Prestige can have maximum effect.

-bp- did you get my message? Do you still have that rack unit that belongs to the DDS? I want it.
