so after MBLV i think i am about to get back into adding blacklight to some of my setups. I have had the Elation UV washes in the past. I liked them but found the bulb fixture to be a little to fragile for my taste. I am looking at the ADJ eco uv plus but find a problem. Every bit of info i find on it online says it is 18 3watt leds (inlcuding adjs website and user manual) but in calling adj about the light in regards to another question he informed me that it is 18 1watt leds and all documentation is wrong. Hopefully someone can clear this up for me. i like the price point of the unit and while it is not dmx i could plug a couple into my adj dmx mirror ball motor for on/off functionality.

for those that might own this fixture any thoughts about me using my dmx software to trigger the unit rapidly to achieve a strobe like effect? or do we think that this might hurt the fixture?

i like this unit as it fits into the physical look of my setup but am not against looking at other units. not a big fan of the panel look.

any users of the eco plus chime in with how you feel a unit (or units) fill a room of a certain size?

If you've got the budget, I'd look at some of the newer RGBAU and RGBWU LED fixtures that are available now. These would give you the best of both worlds.

i just picked up 5 blizzard fab5 RGBAW to start to redo our upligting I saw their RGBAU that will be coming out but it will be a little costly for my tastes right now at what I believe will be about $500-$600 each.

Josh, how do you like the Fab5.
What did you compare it to before going with those.
Any weakness in the Fab5 you don't like?
How does it compare to the Puck RGBAW?
Big difference or minimal?

The Blizzard Puck CSI may be a good VU option. How it compares to AMDJ, Elation and Chauvet I wish I knew?

The Fab 5 is the sun, the Puck RGBAW is the moon.

Just got 8 Fab 5's delivered...full review to come very soon. The ECO UV's are a great light very bright but A LOT of visible light, not that clients are going to say anything. Chauvet just debuted some UV flood at Namm but my personal favorite, if you have the money, is the ADJ UV16's, Blacklight+DMX capabilities=lots of fun. However, I opted for the ECO's over the UV16's because I could get 4 ECO's instead of like 2 UV16's.

I own 2 of the Chauvet LED Shadow Black Light Panels. Great wash. Bought 2 more last week and used at a black light party this past weekend. I also borrowed an American DJ P64 LED UV fom another DJ. It too does a great job but not as much of a wash effect but more of a throw if you're looking for that.

I've owned 8 of the ADJ P64 LED-UV's for several years. Got 'em when they first came out and I'd be willing to bet they still haven't covered their ROI since they only get used at Halloween and special "Glow" parties. I've gotten a lot more use out of my 8 Puck Q12+'s as color wash and up lights. My next gig (small wedding <100) I get to try out the Blizzard Weather System ... can't wait.

I just got in 2 of the ADJ UV16 bars. Just by turning them on here in the house, I'm really impressed.I can see buying a few more to replace my 8 ADJ UV panels. The UV panels are great wash lights. But they are bulky as hell.

Check out Arnoldo's video. He says that the previous model was 1 watt leds and that the plus model has 3 watt leds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLY7FB2V4fk

I use two of the Elation UV Wash lights and love them. They have great output and are easy to transport, I'm not sure why you had an issue with them in that regard... If I were buying again, I would look at the ADJ UV16. Ever since I saw this video two years ago, I have been singing its praise: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KczKvZdMZwQ Sure, all the LED UV lights put out some regular purple light but that is not such a bad thing if you are using them for school dances and the like where the schools insist that there is some ambient light in the room. The Elation's put out more of a true UV light. I am looking at purchasing a pair of ADJ Vizi Spot LED Pro movers and was pleased to see that one of the colors it offers is UV. :)

Holy cow, Steve.
I see how that video would have inspired you.
The shots of the houses and cars should be used for their sales video.
