Just got this entertaining email, as you can see it was obviously pasted and copies many times....some people...I was thinking of responding to it, what you would email her back if you had the time for a little guidance to help a poor lost soul...

Hello, my name is SXXXX XXXXXXl. I am 20 years old and recently got engaged to the man of my dreams. We plan on having our wedding early September, and would like you to be apart! About 500 HUNDRED people will be attending our wedding. It is going to be beautiful! I would love to have your flower arrangements at my wedding and reception. If you were to sponsor our wedding we can promise you that your name will be advertised in return. We are very exited for you to be apart of the most AMAZING weddings our guests have ever seen! Thank You

Congratulations!

I'd be more than happy to sponsor your wedding! We do have a sponsorship application that we require. You can apply or a small fee of $1295. However if 1/10 of your reception guest lists (meaning 50) also applies for a sponsorship, then your sponsorship application fee of $1295 is returned!

Thanks again and God bless!

Yes, I have sent this one before.

In my neck of the woods, some weddings have had themes for some time.
I got married in 2007 and my wife did a coffee theme.
Just for kicks & giggles, we sought out sponsorship from Starbucks. I figured that the advertising value from regional news coverage would far out value the cost of the sponsorship. Starbucks declined citing that there sponsorship went to more humanitarian causes :(.

How about this:
"We would love to sponser your wedding!
but since we havent actually sponsered a wedding before, i guess the first thing I would like us to discuss is where we will be putting our logo and name on your wedding dress.. Obviously we would want it to show up in the majority of wedding pictures, but we may accept lower placement if the groom will also be wearing our logo.."

My reply?

I will be more than happy to co-sponsor your wedding if we can get each of your 500 guests to donate $3 each to me for my services.

Hello,

Thank you for considering our company for sponsoring your wedding. All of our sponsorships are done in the form of a permanent tatoo somewhere on the bride / grooms body. The value of the sponsorship is determined by the size and placement of the tattoo as well as the proximity to other tattoos. In other words, the larger the tattoo, the more it is worth. The placement is also important. Locations such as the lower back, stomach, thighs, or other places that are normally covered by clothing do not carry as much value as locations such as your forehead, or part of your face, which is normally uncovered and will appear in most pictures.

Please consult with (insert tattoo shop name here) to look at designs and sizes. Please send us pictures of completed tattoo, so that we can determine our level of sponsorship.

Sincerely,

.................

But gee guys, don't you see all the future work? I mean think about it, there are 500 people there that would also want you to work for free.

Chimp, you've got it all wrong... They CAN afford to pay you, they'd just rather NOT. ;)
You're probably right. Ever notice how the more money/fame a person has, the less likely it is that they have to pay for things?

I would say: I'd love to! But in order to cover my costs, I'll be co-sponsoring with Bloggins and Bloggins Divorce Lawyers, Trojan Condoms, and Hooters. Is that okay?
