If anyone had any thoughts at all about doing business with JamStar, take my advice and DON'T. I have just filed a complaint with the FTC because JamStar is giving me the runaround on processing a refund for merchandise they never shipped. I should have seen the writing on the wall. My biggest regret is that I paid via PayPal and PayPal deemed my transaction "ineligible" to file a claim.

Jimmie, sorry to hear of your problems.

Why did paypal decide to do this?

And what is Jamstar saying? Did they send you an itinerary for a piece to be shipped and never sent it?

How far up in their chain have you gone?

usually if you can get to someone in charge they will at least listen to you and research it.

I think paypal may only concern themselves with ebay transactions. Anything else and you're on your own. Either that or the $ amount is too high for buyer protection. Either way it's scary to do business with PayPal.

The problem with JamStar is that they politely tell me everything I want to hear and then nothing happens. I was told I would have a full refund in 24 hours. 24 hours later I called back and was told the refund hadn't been processed and she didn't know why. She gave me someone else to call. I left a message for that person and never heard back. I called again later and got through to him, and he told me he'd call me back with a resolution. 24 hours later and I can't get a hold of him so I call back the first woman I spoke to. She apologies and tells me that the president of the company is coming in today and she will talk to him about this to get it expedited. I told her if I didn't hear back by the end of business today that my next call would be to my lawyer, which I fully intend to follow through on. i'm just posting here to warns others: don't do business with this company!

ITYS!

Good luck, Jimmie.

You may wish to register your complaint to the California Attorney General's Office along with a dozen other folks.

Jimmie : Seriously speaking, they were great lights at a great price, and it was a very hard thing for me to pull the plug on them because those puppies are superior to my LE-14s

BUT...

the LE-14s were $79 versus $119 for the Elites and I have the LE-14s in hand, working, and earning their keep.

Other than a couple here or there (like one or two units), I haven't heard of anybody getting any product so I wonder who, outside the DJ world, is snapping up their entire production (that assumes they are producing anything and not living off the withheld payments pending some other shenanigans like possibly bankruptcy)?

Just to clarify for those that may not realize...

paypal = ebay = paypal...same entity, different clothing!

For those that use ebay; the rumor is that ebay is trying to enforce a paypal only rule on all auctions.

Yep. eBay wants to snag even more percentage off of each and every auction. They went from a good deal when they started to a rip off conglomerate today.

That's bites! I hope you do come to some resolution with jamstar. I was very skeptical about them anyway since they had taken so long to fulfill some other orders.

As far as PayPal and Ebay goes, I'm done with them all together.

I have been looking at some items on ebay for the last couple weeks and have come to the conclusion that there is a suspicious amount of last minute snipe bidding, within the last one to two seconds of an auction, that nearly always drives the price up to almost identically the amount a similar item has sold for in the recent past...and they hide all bidder's titles from view so you never know if it's a person or ebay doing it.

The item I was watching had other specimens selling for $150 to $300, I was the winner of an auction at $66 with 2 seconds remaining, as the page refreshed, I was still the winner, but it was now at $150.00 (my highest bid was $152.99, an amopunt I entered only to counter the other bidders...didn't really intend to pay that much)...I dare say that if I'd waited til 2-seconds on an auction, my bid would've hit the closed gate and not been counted.

Hmmm...

I's been seven days of getting nothing but the runaround. Anyone who does business with this company would have to be crazy at this point.

I have to wonder if there have not been changes to the product line at Jamstar that makes it difficult for them to meet previous orders.

They no longer list the Elite at all. They have two different models, with different names, although both look very, very similar to the Elite that I have.

Of the two, one is "coming soon", and the other is priced at $399.

Given that they introduced the Elite at $99, and commited to sales of a lot of them at that price, I wonder if they are holding back on those and sellling and shipping the $399 model to new orders. That extra $300 per unit would make for a strong financial incentive....

All of this is speculation, but I do find it interesting that they don't even list the product that the OP ordered and is still being promised delivery of.

I like the one Elite that I received, and would order more if the price were similar, and if there were a chance I could get them in a reasonable time. That no longer appears possible.
