Hey all,

If you've placed an order with this company and that order remains unfilled, would you please PM me with the date you ordered, etc. I'm trying to find out how many orders are outstanding.

I want to chime in and urge anyone and everyone who has a pending order with JamStar Lighting to contact Dave with the details of your order.

If JamStar has your money, you have limited time in which you are protected. The problem is that this company is telling untold numbers of people that their orders are coming, and after x number of days (depending on your payment method), you will not be able to recover your money from your bank, credit card company or PayPal and you will be left to the mercy of JamStar.

If you are holding on to the hope that eventually your order will ship, you may be in for a big disappointment and you are taking a huge risk by trusting that JamStar will do the right thing.

Update...

I'm getting information from people who are not DJ's but have visited this forum who also have purchased lights....

I'm owed quite a bit of money on this and I don't expect I'll ever see it. Too many delays, too many excuses. I was supposed to have my money two weeks ago. I was supposed to have my lights in September.

If you've "bought" lights from Jamstar and have not got them yet, and you haven't sent me a PM, please do so ASAP.

What JamStar has done goes so far beyond poor customer service that I believe it is criminal. I can not strongly-enough warn others to avoid them. If it's too late to avoid them, it might not be too late to get your money back from your bank or credit card but your time is running out.

If you paid via PayPal but did not use a credit card for the transaction, you will not get your money back from PayPal. JamStar's account is frozen and I strongly suspect there is no money in it anyway. PayPal's policy if they rule in your favor on a claim is to refund money from the seller account. If the money isn't there, PayPal does not offer any further protection on non-eBay purchases.

This just in: I have received a cashiers check from Jamstar in the mail today. Nobody is more shocked than me. It is unbelievable to me how difficult it was to get a refund and even with them finally refunding my money I would still advise everyone to avoid them.

If there is anyone who is still waiting for a refund from this company I am happy to share everything that I learned during this process.

Not to steal his thunder, but Dave confided in me that he also received a check in the mail yesterday.

My lights should be here in the morning. I've been following the tracking daily. I'm glad you got your check, Jimmie. I know you would have rather had the lights.

Has anyone received the diffusers that are suppose to come with the light? Technically, the order isn't really complete until they make good on sending everyone the diffusers.

I did get a refund check after about a month of constantly asking, prodding, pleading and at least some threatening.

I would advise you, if you still have and outstanding invoice, to call them and continue to call them and ask for a resolution.

Something has broken the logjam at that company, I bet it was Jimmie, so now is the time to act.

Kevin: Please post if you get your correct order quantity. I seem to recall reading something recently about someone who was told his order shipped and when it arrived there were 2 of 10 expected lights in the shipment!

I got all 4 this afternoon.

While I'm certainly not pleased with the customer service of this company, I would possibly buy from them again, if the price was right.

I was told that they are not taking any new orders until all the back orders are all filled. I hope they will take this as a learning experience and try and establish themselves as a good company to deal with. Only time will tell.

Finally received my 2nd dozen Jamstar Elites . They were due to arrive 1/2/09 but actually showed up at my doorstep on 12/29/08. The one I returned for repair will arrive on 1/2/09 if UPS is correct. So now I'm ready for my next uplighting gig with 24 Jamstars and 10 ADJ P64LED Pros.
