It's called the Aerial Pak, and it's a 4-channel relay pack with wireless remote.

It says:

• 4-channel relay power pack with four 3-prong Edison plugs
• Custom, adjustable hanging bracket for clamps or connecting to lighting stands or truss
• Includes wireless remote with 100 foot range: Control On/Off of 4 channels
• Maximum load: 10A, 1200W per channel or 15A, 1800W total
• 15 AMP circuit breaker
• Dimensions (LxWxH): 5.5" x 7.5" x 2.5"/ 140 x 109.5 x 63.5mm
• Weight: 3.5 lbs. / 1.3 kgs.

Retail Price US $129.95
(so street price probably around $100)

Interesting, huh? I figure I can use this for my weddings, corporate gigs, and small school dances. The 4 channels will be used like so:

ch1 - Color150DMX colorchangers
ch2 - Rotopods (sparkles) for slow songs
ch3 - 2 of my 8-in police beacons
ch4 - strobe

(constant on - blacklight)

And no running control cords to the relay pack, just power. Yippee!

Ain't technology great? :)

We just got the first shipment of them today. They have a nice range and (depending on your setup) will make setups a lot easier! The price might surprise you.

I didn't see any mention in the description about it being DMX-able. If it's not, then I think you can forget about using the Color 150 units with this.

If it is then that's important to know too.

The unit does not have DMX protocol. It would definitely be nice to see a DMX version of it somewhere down the road though. Technically, you could run the Color 150DMX from it if you didn't mind the 15-20 second reset/startup time. It doesn't hurt it to use it that way. Although using the blackout controller (another wire of course) will allow instant start/stop as long as the unit remains powered up.

I was thinking that same thing. You could run the DMX Color changers, but would have to put up with the reset/start up delay. Looks like a good option for par cans and effect lighting such as vertigos or avengers.

I agree. They will be great for cans that you're not worried about dimming or smaller sound active effects. I like it!

Eric,

I would run them (the color150s) the same way I run them now, plugged into the Copilot relay pack. Yes, they have a power-up delay on startup, but it's only a few seconds. You still link them master/slave, and you've got a great lightshow.

Wow! I can't wait til that comes out. I use the co-pilot and was thinking how nice it would be if it had wireless capability.

Joe, can I ask what the adapter is? Is it 2 pieces, one that fits on the controller and one on the power pack? Or is it a new controller and a receiver for the power pack?

I ask because my console is designed especially for the copilot (see picture) and I'd like to know if I will have to change my console.

Thanks a million for the info!

There are two units, both look like a small wireless mic receiver with one antenna. One plugs into the output of the control, one into the switching pak. I think you will also need a power supply for the controller since it normally gets its power from the switching pak, via the control cable. You also have to reverse the diode in the output of the controller

Joe, thanks a bunch for the information. It sound like that wireless adapter for the copilot will be pretty popular!

Toad...thanks! I've seen pics of your setup, and was even more impressed! You use the Pioneer case with the Ultimate Support Apex stand, don't you? I was a Pioneer man myself for a long time until I switched to the computer.
