For those who remember the LED can I was supposed to have with 197 LEDs in it for great pricing… well it is here… at a lower price.. so perhaps worth the wait. As little as $59.99 each… a similar can from competitors would sell for double this. Trust me I checked, and compared them.

This can is similar in size and out put to the 200 B very pleasantly surprised bright. IF you need an up light or a wash light you must look at these. This will be another limited run, when they are gone I may not be able to get back in…for sure not at the price point…

This is an opportunity buy...

Here are some pictures... notice the picture of the ceiling, you can see that the spread is about 10 feet (2 foot panels)

Damn, I was waiting for these too. And I will have to wait longer. Just spent my allotment for new equipment for the next two months. Bad timing I guess. :(

It's a great price, but it's unconscionable what UPS is asking to ship the buggers. UPS truly hoses Alaskans in a way FedEx and USPS would never dream of doing.

Biff,

Do this lights have the option of setting colors by dip switch for steady use? and do you sell the bases for them?

Thanks.

Biff,

You wouldn't have happened to do a side-by-side comparison with these lights & the VEI LE-14?

This looks like an identical style fixture - can you please post the DMX addressing info?

Thanks!

Joe

Couple of quick questions.
Can they be run in Master/Slave mode?
Are they sound activated or DMX only?
Thanks Biff.

PS you can email me directly if you'd like.

Here is what I recently wrote on another site:

The can I think you are speaking about is the 6005 which has 197 leds. 196 Ø5 LEDs (85 Red, 51 Green, 60 Blue)

The 6005 from Irradiant is a bit brighter of a LED can.. the size is 1 inch smaller than the 200 b.

Durability can only be answered by saying the Irradiant cans "in general" have been very reliable and I have not had any returns to the product. Since this is a new can, it has not been “road tested”, but it is the same leds and set up as the other cans.. I do not anticipate any problems.

I was surprised that when I tested the beam angle (unscientifically, by eye). They were very similar… I expected the 200b to be wider but this is not the case, since the 6005 is brighter, the color “ring” extends out farther than the 200b.

I compared the red, green and blue of each can and was surprised at how similar these colors were. When it comes to the mixing of the colors, each can has certain colors that look better than the other. The 200b seems to have a “richer” or deeper color mix on some color mixes.

Differences:

1) The 6006 DOES NOT have internal programming or the ability to set static colors by the dip switches.. this is the main difference and what I feel the big price difference is from. YOU MUST USE A DMX CONTROLLER to use these.
2) The 6005 uses the “irradiant rings of leds” which is the same on all of there ½ watt and ¼ watt fixtures to date. There are 7 channels of DMX to control the rigs… this allows for a bit more programming time, but also allows you to remove hot spots that may be created from color mixing.

Here is what I have been telling people, if you need the internal programs or the ability to set static colors using the dip switches, the 6006 is not for you. But the 200 b is about twice the price… so if you are using a controller this can gets a thumbs up from me for the value, output and performance.

Keep in mind, as you read this, I like the 200b and it is still a favorite can of mine.

I do not sell VEI product, so I can not compare them.

To be as clear as possible. THERE ARE NO PRESET PROGRAMS and you CAN NOT SET DIP SWITCHES FOR COLOR MIXING.

You must use a DMX controller. We are programming the controller at no additional charge when you purchase in a package.

Lets do the math to show the value..

10 Chauvet 200 b cost around $1250.00 with good guy discounts..

10 6005 plus a DMX controller and 10 cables costs around 800-900 depending on the DMX controller you put in the package. So you are saving 350 to 450 on this package. PLUS you are getting the ability to color mix..

Neither example is considering freight.

Yes, you have to cable them… so to some who put around the room, this may not be an option.. You could even buy 2 wireless DFIs add it to the package and STILL be cheaper then 200bs.

Do not get me wrong, I am not bashing the 200b.. (I like the can) I am just trying to point out the value of the 6006 and the opportunity available.

Well like I said, we are pre programming your controller with basic colors and a few fades to get you started... It is not as hard as you may think. Especially with par cans.. there is no movement. If you get ready to take the jump let me know.

Actually, yes we will be... a long as a few other goodies and surprises.. If all goes well, you guys will see a product that hasn't been shown at any show to date. (that I am aware of)

So for now we will call it a potential MBLV exclusive.

Just got my 6005 cans in - thanks to DJ Biff's willingness to explore other shipping options. It's a nice little can for the money. I'll have some fun putting together programs for these and finally adding some color fill to my light show.

The one issue I had... there are 10 dip switches on the back. Switch #10 is DMX Enable. Nowhere in the documentation is this mentioned.

Thanks again to DJS for putting this offer out there.
