I'm a fan of Apple's technology...but not the "limits" they have been known to place on the consumers use of their technology.
As such, I've never signed up for an iTunes account. At this point I have to because Amazon is not getting the remixes I need (i.e. clean edit of "I Love It" by Icona Pop).

QUESTION: I've heard that iTunes will reorganize the existing music & media collection I have on my laptop(s)...is this true? I'm quite happy with the way things are organized as they are. I'm hoping this is an option I can opt out of... I'm also wondering if iTunes will place any restrictions or monitoring on my existing music collection. Thanx in advance. -Z-

Steve, I also find Rhapsody to contain a lot of mixes and more clean edits than Itunes. Might be worth checking out as well....

I will Bill, thank you. iTunes doesn't have the clean edit to "I Love It" either. I know it exists because all the top 40 station are playing it.

I like to rename the music files so the file itself contains the artists and title, where as Itunes likes to organize by folder.. (and if you rename the files Itunes thinks they have been deleted)
So I download the itunes to my "itunes folder" on my Desktop then use VDJ to copy the files to my DJ hard drive and rename the files..
I dont let Itunes touch my working DJ hard drive but I like to let Itunes have its own download folder so if I purchase a song on another computer, I can then let it sync the purchased file to my desktop.

hopefully that makes sense..

HitDisc HP201247 -- Released on 11/16/2012 I Love It [Super Clean] Icona Pop Feat.

Might just be easier to get a music subscription, as they have many clean edits. I'm scrapping the itunes format when I retire my iphone.
