Uh oh. Gig tomorrow just requested The Electric Slide, but not the famous version by Marcia Griffiths or any of the subsequent followups.

They were specific about a Country Electric Slide?

A lot of folks do the slide to Shania's 'Man, I Feel Like A Woman'. Otherwise, dunno, haven't heard of a specific song like that yet.

I can just hear the banjo and dobro doing the man theme....LOL

Maybe a fiddle doing the "boogie oogie woogie" part...

OR.....they could be talking about pedal know...a "Country Electric Slide gee-tar!"

I have seen someone mention the Cha Cha Slide as a "country Electric Slide" with stomps, so that might be what they mean. It sure don't sound Country to me though....

Maybe they mean the Tush Push.

Mark, that's what jumped out at me when I looked at the list in Bill's post.

I like Fast As You, it has a riff similar to Pretty Woman.

Hopefully, they will like this, if not, we'll try something else! 8)

Here's a few more from my play lists. Hope they help

Prop Me Up Beside The Jukebox- Joe Diffie
Fast As You- Dwight Yoakam
Get Back- Steve Wariner
Get In Line- Larry Boone
Super Love- Exile
Wild Man- Ricky Van Shelton
Bobby Ann Mason- Rick Trevino
Earthquake- Ronnie Milsap

People around here will do "Four Corners" to Harlem Shuffle - Rolling Stones and Boot Scootin Boogie - Brooks & Dunn.

My bet says they are looking for the Harlem Shuffle!

John: Yep, that request. They do the Virginia Cowboy (the country dance version of the electric slide) to one of two popular tracks:

(Bonnie Raitt) "Something To Talk About"

(are you sitting down?)

(Geezinslaw Brothers) "Help Me I'm White And I Can't Dance"

Just in case they are confusing the country slide with the country macarena, have the (Groovegrass Boys) Macarena. No DJ should be without these (barf)!

Try Strokin' - Clarence Carter. Not only does it work well for the slide, but you get lots of personal information and it gets them in the mood for lu-uv... (or an unreasonable facsimile) ;)
