Contemporary Wedding Prelude Ideas

For an upcoming wedding, the B2B wants lyrical, somewhat contemporary song choices for the prelude to their outdoor/tented wedding ceremony.

Ok - Some of her choices are:

Again & Again - Jewel
Say - John Mayer
Everything - Michael Buble
In Love With You - Erykah Badu & Ziggy Marley
What Am I To You - Norah Jones

I suggested that she come up with a few more b/c of the possibility of things running a little late (i.e. plan for 20-30 minutes of prelude music, but being the properly prepared musician, ahem - button pusher, I would like to have 40-50 minutes of music 'just in case'... ;)

So far, I've suggested Israel K's "Over the Rainbow"
& "Fallen" by Lauren Wood.

Are there any other contemporary love song ideas for a wedding prelude set that you'd add to this list?

Falling Slowly - the Oscar winning best picture song from Once (Glen Hansard is the male singer you can search under his name)

Shawn Colvin also does a really nice version of Crazy by Gnarls Barkley

I think one of the cutest love songs our right now that I am considering for our wedding is

"The Way I Am" by Ingrid Michaelson

If you were falling
Then I would catch you

You need a light
I'd find a match

Cause I love the way you say good morning
And you take me the way I am

If you are chilly
Here take my sweater

Your head is aching
I'll make it better

Cause I love the way you call me baby
And you take me the way I am

I'd buy you Rogaine
When you start losing all your hair

Sew on patches
To all you tear

Cause I love you more than I could ever promise
And you take me the way I am mmm

you take me the way I am
you take me the way I am

I love it. It was in an Old Navy commercial last winter.

It's soft. Sweet and very loving. Don't let the Rogaine line fool you.

Oh Yeah I'd also look into "Look After You" by The Fray. Beautiful love song.

Joe, Heather should remember hearing it when we were in Mass. It was the one that I said I am walking down the aisle to. Gorgeous song.

Thanks all!

Buble, Jack Johnson, and Norah Jones are already in the list.

Some more artists/songs to consider. This could be a fun time...:).

She loves the Israel K 'Over the Rainbow' - but I'm wondering about holding that for cocktails/dinner. It's TOO good, as someone said to use it there - will consider where else I can use it for the most 'bang for the buck'.

Yup - Got that one from Ingrid M. on the list also. Cute song. I'll check on that one by The Fray. Thank you!

Besides "By Your Side" by Sade, any others from her that you might suggest?

Thanks again, all!

Something I have used quite a bit for cake cutting that always bring a smile is Grow old with you by Adam Sandler. It may work for this as well, just forward past the Billy Idol announcement.

Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars

As for Sade, No Ordinary Love and Your Love is King, although I love her entire Greatest Hits CD.
