Good News: I've got Power, Heat, Hot Water (3 different things in my house), Cable & Internet. Yay! :)

Bad News: I've got not a flake less than 24 inches of snow and in all likelihood closer to 36 inches. The truck is buried in up to its windows. The wife, a nursing home administrator, is at work, has been at work, since 3 PM yesterday to head up the emergency operations for the building & I got the 2 terrorists all by my lonesome. :((

Excellent News: All shoveling is included with my maintenance fees :D.

What a mess. This is the 2nd time in 5 years I know you guys got hit while we were in Vegas. The East coast crew just got an extended vacation. Be safe.

Wimps, all of you. At Christmas time two years ago we had consecutive snowfall of 26" and 14" in the same week. This was pretty unusual, but we didn't go crazy about.

I always make sure my batteries (for outdoor ceremonies) are fully charged. If we lost power, I could still toss in a DVD for the little monsters.

From the Capital District Region (Albany-Schenectady-Troy-Saratoga) in upstate NY, we got maybe 8". The streets are plowed and snow has melted making them wide-open. Looks like we dodged one again.

To those in the blammed areas, be safe and take your time shoveling. Dieing of a heart attack while shoveling snow is against the Man Law just as fruiting the beer is.

Good News.... It's 70 Degrees, The Sun is shining, I have a pair of shorts and flip flops on in the backyard with a glass of wine and a pussy cat in my lap.

Bad News.... The Sun just went behind a cloud and I have nothing but a pussy cat in my lap.

Excellent News.... I just got back from Panama City getting ready for Spring Break and sold all my RGBW lights at a profit and got a raise for my daily rate on the 30 day gig looking at coeds and drinking beer on the beach coming up in March.

lil let the insults begin in 3-2-1 jimmy

Cleveland... about .5" of snow and a thin layer of ice. But the salt truck took out my garbage can and spread it on my neighbor's lawn.:)

I'm thinking we got at least 36" here as well. My truck was buried with snow up to the sideview-mirrors and isolated in with at least 4 feet of snow on every side. There's a reason why they call snow shoveling "the widow maker" . I slipped one of the the dudes from our developments snow removal team $10 and he got the guy driving the bobcat mini bulldozer to clear me a path. Best 10 bucks I've ever spent.

Out on LawnGuy Land, things are still AFU. LIE (495) and Sunrise Hwy are closed. There were a reported 150 cars stuck on North Ocean Ave (83). The side roads are in no great shape either. Lots of cars buried on the side of the road. I'm all cleared and ready to go though. No lost power, phone or Internet.
Did learn a valuable lesson though. Actually a few.
1. Prep the snow blower in early December. Maybe even November.
2. While a Jeep Wrangler with excellent ground clearance can get on top of the snow bank, don't park it there. After a few hours it will "settle in", and think it's a nesting spot until you dig it free.
3. Like a good neighbor, neighbors are always willing to help. As long as you have beer.

Here, jimmy, a lil something for you!

And on goes the debate, which county government squanders taxpayer money better (read: corruption); Nassau or Suffolk?

Not a single flake here in MD; not even a flurry! That storm passed just to our north. Only one county in MD got about an inch or so and that was in the upper NE corner of the state Stay safe guys and hopefully you won't lose any gigs.

We didn't get squat. But, given that the collective IQ of drivers in ice or snow in the tarheel state registers less than 50, that's a good thing.

The news media hypes it up here as well. last month, we had a little bit of ice drop. I think that they get a kickback from grocery stores for increased volume of sales of milk bread and water. You'd think that the world was coming to an end.

(help, the sky is falling, WE'RE GONNA DIE!!!)

ABC 11 dispatched news reporters with the new Ipads that project video, and showed us frost on the windshield, clear roads, and 2 inches north of Durham (snow)

We don't have the plows, the salt or the chains needed for travel on icy or snow choked roads. Better to stay home and chase the spouse;)

The good news is that today it will be 64.

Hey Bill, did NC finally purchase some snow removal equipment? When I was stationed at Seymour-Johnson AFB in Goldsboro, NC they didn't have any at all.
