HI everyone,

Just recently upgraded from XP to Windows 7 this past month, so far i love everything about it. Unfortunately my favorite burning software (Nero 6) is no longer compatible with 7. I'm not a fan of the newer Neros and i hear and read that they're not as good as 6. Can anyone recommend a good CD/DVD burning software?

I use Roxio and that seems to work fine but again it depends on what you are trying to do.

Second on Roxio...

FWIW, if you have Nero 6, you can still use it in compatibility mode on Win7.

I have the 64 Bit version of Windows 7, so Nero 6 is pretty much incompatible, believe me Bill, i tried every way possible to get my version of Nero 6 to work with my PC, no luck at all.

Mark + Brian: Pretty much making up Audio CDs for events, copying CDs, MP3 Discs and just regular data discs. Pretty much the basic uses of a burning program.

Right now I would have to say anything that deals with music I would use Media Monkey. You can make any type of audio cd you can think of including on DVD.

As for data you should be able just to drag and drop and windows will burn it for ya.

If your converting a movie (avi/divx/mp4/what ever) to dvd then I use ConvertXtoDVD.

To copy a DVD. I have not done that in a long time. You can try DVD Decrypter (free) It worked the best on XP, not sure about 7

I don't know if they're the "best", but Windows 7 already contains several CD/DVD burning software:

--Windows Explorer will burn files to CD-Rs and recordable DVDs
--WMP12 will burn music CDs
--Windows DVD Maker can burn a variety of video (AVI, MPG, WMV, etc.), audio, and image files onto a standard DVD-format disc that you can play on any DVD player. I don't think it works for Blu-Ray discs, though.

I was fulling around with WMP, i hate the layout of it. Nero had a simpler user interface, i also use to like the feature where once you finished burning a CD, the title track will import into the cover designer.

I'll give Media Monkey a try, thanks!! :)
