Please post a pic of the 1st Record (45 or 33 1/3), Tape (8-Track or Cassette), CD (or Mini Disc), or MP3 you ever owned. This doesn't mean the 1st Record you ever owned as a DJ, just the first record.

Very cool. I actually bought it again on eBay this year since it has been gone for years but I remember my 1st album, pictured here.

1st cassette I bought was Alan Parson's I Robot, 1st cd's were Boston- don't look back! Elton Johns Greatest Hits and Glenn Miller's In the Digital Mood.

The first record I ever bought with my own money was a 45 of Ray Stevens' "Gitarzan" (B-Side: "Bagpipes That's My Bag") in 1969... still have it and it still plays fine!

Mine was a captain zoom happy birthday record.. one of the floppy vinyl records you had to tape pennies to to get it to play. These were all the rage in the 70's

Zoom would sing about how he just came from the moon to wish you a happy birthday, and he'd say your name like 30 times in the song.. it was dope!

I was 12 when I bought my first record from the Columbia House Record Club in 1968. Had no idea what I was doing but I bought this:

My first record was actually a box set of Elvis 45's. They came in a box about 2 ft long with every 45 record in a picture sleeve. I wish I still had them, in the box, never played. I was just a kid and abused the hell out of 'em back then.

First album : Petula Clark's Greatest Hits. Bought it at Gimbles in NYC.
First 45: "Leaving on a Jet Plane", Peter, Paul and Mary.
Not sure which I bought first.

First record is posted above...

First CD was "Van Halen" - Van Halen, purchased at the PX in Okinawa Japan in 1984, and I didn't even own a CD player til I rotated back to the US in 1985 (while there I also purchased "Dark Side Of The Moon" - Pink Floyd, "Born In The USA" - Bruce Springsteen, Bon Jovi (first album on Scotti Bros label), and Eagles - Hotel California. They were $11.95 each and I still have them all).

First record was "Blood, Sweat & Tears" first album. Then, went out and bought "ABC" by Jackson 5.
First tape was "Live from San Quintin" by Johnny Cash.
First CD was "Hear The Light" by various artists (Kool & The Gang, Eric Clapton, Scorpions, to name a few)

Some of us are really showing our ages.

This is the first LP.
But to say I"owned" it is a stretch. I borrowed/stole it from a friend.
