    Running System Mono

I have a denon MC6000 currently I'm running out of the xlr outs stereo to my system. I have either 2 or 4 NX55p's and 1 or 2 LS801p's depending on size of gig. To run stereo I must loop each speaker to a sub if using both subs, or one cable from each speaker using one sub. Just curious if I would give anything up if I just ran the whole thing mono and saved all the cable runs by going just from one speaker to subs or sub at all times.

    Flick da switch!

You know - the one on the back of your MC6000 that makes you go from Stereo to Mono. No one has ever told me my system wasn't Stereo enough, but you can bet if I'm playing some of those older tracks, like the Beatles, and have things set to Stereo there would be complaints.

I'm not sure what you're doing with your cable runs when you're running Stereo, but it sounds like too much work!

I'm going to try it out at my wedding gig this weekend see if I notice a difference. So setting it to mono does it matter if I use one output and daisy chain the system, or should I still run out of both left and right?

Once you flick the switch the exact same summed mono signal comes out of both outputs so it doesn't matter if you use both or just one.. whatever makes it easier/tidier. FWIW if all the speakers are clustered relatively close together(within 10ft) stereo or mono won't really matter though stereo may sound a little nicer directly in front of the system. But if you have them seperated far apart or distributed around a room then mono is essentially manditory if you want everybody to hear all the content.

No one has even complained about playing a track that is older and has things only coming out of one speaker... never.... and ive been doing this since 1985. Anyway, I ALWAYS run stereo and a single MONO SUB from the MONO output of the driverack PA

My mixer has a switch as well, and unless the setup is straight on, in a rectangular room...
    I keep it in mono.
Nothing worse than hearing HALF a Beatles song, cause you're not dead center on the dance floor.
Also, we have a few odd shaped (even "L" shaped) venues around here.

So just because you never got a complaint about hearing vocals only, or not hearing the vocals means it's OK? I've complained about it at restaurants. Didn't do any good, because they don't care either.

Point: most people are too nice to complain about the DJ's sound system. I could go out using pyle pro tomorrow and not get one complaint. But we know better.

Did you say you're wiring from your Denon to top speaker and then down to your sub? Why? Doesn't this defeat the entire purpose of using a sub in the first place. You should be going from mixer to sub then up to your tops.

If they're powered it probably doesn't matter. It doesn't matter which way I chain together my K12's and KSubs - in fact the manual says go to the K12 first and then to the KSub. I always go to the Sub first because it simplifies the wiring.
