Organizing Music on a New Mac

I am a new to the Mac world. Owner of Mac Book Pro.

Before I attempt to transfer my music from my external HD to my new Mac, are there any do's and don'ts?

Can I put all of my music into one folder and have my software organize it?

Should I limit the amount of mp3's in each folder?

Any other recommendaitons pertaining to organizing on my Mac?

I have two macs an iMac for home use and my MacBook pro I use for DJing I use iTunes and iTunes match to keep both synced with all my music and playlists. Then I use the library view in traktor to import my music and playlists in. As an added bonus making my playlists in iTunes I have them on both my iPhone and iPad for backup at events.
