If any DJs here in the New England area have ever been curious about the KV2 sound.
I just picked up a pair of EX10's & EX12's to go with my EX2.2 sub.
I setup a quick A/B test last night.
System A) EV Live X - A pair of EV ELX112P (1000W 12" 2-way cabs), over a pair of EV ELX118P (single 18" 700W sub).
TOTAL system power - 3,400 watts
System B) KV2 - A pair of KV2 EX10 (500W 10" 2-way cabs), over a single KV2 EX2.2 sub (1000W dual 12" sub)
TOTAL system power - 2,000 watts
Music source: Various MP3s encoded at 320 CBR, all played via VirtualDJ (on my Core i5 Dell) thru my Rane MP25
Now just going by published specs, the EV system should have the upper hand.
Tops ... EV's are a pair of 12" vs KV2's pair of 10" (EX10's),
Subs .. EV are two single 18" subs vs a single dual 12" sub,
Total System Power ... EV list 1,400 more watts more than KV2
EV should easily beat the KV2. Right?
Not the case.
KV2 wins, hands down. The clarity of the KV2 is unbelievable.
Matter of fact, with the KV2 I heard things
that were inaudible with my EVs.
If your curious, and want to listen for yourself .... come on down.
I'm located on the MA/NH Border, in Nashua, NH
Bring your current speakers if you like to do your own A/B
Let you ears be the judge.
