    Everyone,

Thanks for the feedback.....I am glad to see that it is not me....Unlimitedsounds, do you just ask for a refund if you never book? Thanks you for telling me because these prices add up where I am a single-op. I will contact them tomorrow.......mostly all of the leads I purchased NEVER went anywhere. Thanks, Nancy from CMS

Yes I email them and ask for a refund and tell them I purchased a lead and give them the lead # and tell them I had no response at all!

$8.99 for a lead that doesn't respond is a lot of money, refund or not.

    Sounds like Eventective.
I was on with them for a while, but only got leads for the Philadelphia area.
(which is WAY too far for me)
I told them about my issue, and decided to cancel...
and they gave me $25 worth of leads (they were $5 a pop)
But NEVER got even a reply from any of them.
I'd say it's the same scam.

Got this tonight from Thumbtack, a little more than I want to pay, and right now I'm booked solid with DJ and photo booth.

    ----------------------------
We wanted to let you know that Thumbtack is switching to a commission system for all photo booth rental leads we send you. This means you'll pay us only if you're hired and perform a photo booth rental job for a Thumbtack consumer. After you perform the job, you'll pay us 20% of the total booking amount (click here for more details).

I've never received a job from any of those pay per lead services. The only ones I've had any business are the ones that you pay yearly. Even those have slowed way down as people know how to do searches now. $8.99 a lead is ridiculas. Sounds like they got you under their thumb. Drop them.

In reality, you have to weigh their fee against how much you earn from gigs booked off their leads. If you're in the "red", it isn't worth it. The best method is Word of Mouth but I've tried Wedding Wire, Decidio, WedPlan and a few others. I'd never even consider Craigslist because that's where the "bottom feeders" (I hate that term and prefer "uneducated DJ's") hang out. You can try them all until you find one that gets the results you desire. For me, that one is WedPlan. At $20/mo, one booking covers you're annual fee and the rest is in the "black." I occasionally still get leads from Decidio but most are shoppers. The Wedding Wire can generate a lot of leads but I find that their "free" listing don't gain much however, if you're willing to pay their roughly $1500/yr fee, you'll see a lot of potential clients.
