    Color Coordination

    Hello everyone...need a suggestion...

I have a wedding reception to provide uplighting and their colors are black, silver and cream. I think it will come off very well together, and I usually come up with either coordinating or complimentary color ideas, but this has me stumped. Any ideas? Using Chauvet SlimPar 56s.

Sorry for the silly question... Had you asked them what colors they would like for uplighting (if their colors are black silver and cream)?

A short while back, Arnoldo did uplighting of all white. Looked pretty good.

Black, Silver, and Cream. How is that for a difficult color pallet.

LED fixture with RGBAW should be good for this, but wall color will play an important role in a successful outcome. You may need to color mix and diffuse as well. Experimentation will be your friend here.

Also consider combining color filters with your LEDs. You can achieve some really interesting results that way.

Good advice. Thanks! Unfortunately, the uplighting is a surprise for the bride and groom, and each time I've met with the parents, the bride has been there.

Call the mom, setup a time to meet at the reception hall. If there is a decorator who is majorly involved, have them there, too.

Maybe a color that is already in the room. Carpet, walls, trim.

Or set them up and don't turn them on then tell them it is to match with the black.

    OK I'm an idiot.

If you don't think you can or don't want to do something, you are right. If you think you can and want to do something, you are also right.

Most venues around here have cream colored walls, so white uplights would be a good choice, can't really do a silver so again white would be the best you could do.
